"A friend recommended this company and before using them myself, I passed on their contact details to a neighbour who was very happy with the job done. So, when my dishwasher appeared to have blockage, I phoned Robert and explained the problem. The call was cut off mid way, so I phoned back and as he did not answer, left a voicemail. Although he did not call me back, I phoned a week later and asked him if he did not want to the job to please say so. He said he did and we arranged an appointment for the following Tuesday at 1pm. I kept the day clear, cleared out the kitchen cupboard and waited. At 14.23, I texted him asking when he expected to arrive. I have heard nothing since. I was very disappointed, especially given that I had passed on his details to a neighbour. Doing a good job is not enough - a business needs to be reliable and to communicate if there is an issue - I gave up a day for this. My first reaction was to forget about it and find someone else, but a number of friends have had similar issues with trades and agreed that we should share such experiences, because it is just not acceptable."

"Fantastic local plumber, delighted with service. Robert (son of Alan) replaced our thermal storage system & boiler for a very fair price, in good time. First came out to us over Easter weekend during lockdown and was here within the hour. Answers the phone quickly, polite, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about our unusual thermal store system. Used lots of floor protector and was very clean & tidy when working, which I appreciated. Picked his brains about some issues relating to possible future loft conversion, and he clearly knows his stuff. All in all, a great job and a really nice guy. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend."

"RESCUED! I found Alan Kinghorn Plumbing via the accredited Bosch site. Unfortunately we had been completely let down by our original plumber where everything they touched either leaked or broke! Thank goodness I found Robert, of Kinghorn Plumbing though! He came out that evening to do a quote, a thorough inspection of what situation we were in and options- no sneaky add ons and no trickery. Gave solid and knowledgeable advice and was so professional and thorough. They have finance options for new boilers which we had to purchase since our first company had knackered ours but he advised about all the options and the best deal and plan for us. The hob was installed and all gas safety checks performed with great care and top workmanship. New radiators, clipped old leaking radiators, cistern, bathroom installation- Robert and Alan did it all. A family run business who really care and take pride in their work. They squeezed us in when they had other jobs and have gone above and beyond. Recommended to my mother in law and my dad for future work and couldn't be happier with the end results! "Just had my new boiler fitted by Alan and Robert. The did a really great job, as I knew they would as they had done a cracking job on my bathroom last year. They worked non stop and cleared up after they had finished. I'm really pleased with the job that they've done and would highly recommend this family run firm. Definately worth the five stars."

"Brilliant service from a genuine family business. I was visited by Robert at my property - who temporarily fixed a leak in my kitchen. The next day, Ross arrived to replace the pipe and done so for a very fair price. Very neat and tidy job - shoes off, hovered up and were great with our family pet.
