"Paul from the business development side approached our Installations business earlier this year. After some challenges with our existing supplier of The Residence Collection we were happy to investigate the opportunity. A visit to the factory showed an impressive set up with high levels of automation & a right first-time mentality. We have subsequently purchased a number of Residence windows from the team. The quality of the windows is good, but there is room for improvement to ensure all parts are included & it’s a delivery on time & in full. This has been a little disappointing when the factory visit promised such high levels of accuracy. When things aren't quite right the team are reasonably responsive but could in our view be quicker to ensure time isn't lost on site. It doesn't at that moment matter whose fault it is that things aren't right it's just necessary to be quick on finding a solution & executing. But with all relationship things take time to bed in & continued open communication should help this to be a fruitful long-term relationship. "We had windows supplied for a client by HWL which were faulty, after installation, our client told us that the astragal bars were falling off, several fell off within a couple of days. They are manufactured and delivered fully finished with bars already attached. We asked HWL to rectify the problem assuming that they have an after sales team, but after months of assuring me they were going to arrange an engineer to attend and refix the bars, they began avoiding my calls and emails, after 12 weeks we were left to try and rectify the problem ourselves, costing time and money, and with an extremely unhappy client who understandably withheld payment. The MD just simply ignored us, despite us asking Residence to step in and help. It seems he is unwilling to do anything except take your money. It could have been sorted out so easily by them, but instead we were left without their rectifying an issue caused by their own manufacturing. Ignorant. Substandard. Discourteous. Bad business. Residence windows are a really good product, but my suggestion is to find a manufacturer who have an after sales team that are willing to put things right when their product has failed. I have seen that on other reviews he has also denied responsibility on a range of problems, so am attaching photos of the windows supplied."
