"I can not recommend RR Gas And Renewables Ltd given my experience. Ryan was appointed by my letting agency. He advised that 3 parts were needed to fix my gas fire following an initial visit. When we spoke, he acknowledged that he did not actually know what the cause of the fault was and was simply proposing to replace parts he said were the "usual suspects". I approved replacing two of his proposed parts - Thermocouple and Mag Unit - explaining that the Receiver had been replaced recently. I also suggested that he order and replace two other small consumable parts at the same time (Pilot Burner & Electrode). He ignored this request and invoiced £323 for a repair involving only the two parts he'd assumed were the cause. The fire failed again after just one night of use. Having lost confidence, I then engaged an engineer directly through Stovax/Gazco, the manufacturers of my gas fire. They replaced the Pilot Burner I'd originally suggested and the fire has been working ever since, but at an additional cost of £189. More worryingly, Stovax/Gazco's senior engineer reported that the Thermocouple replaced by RR Gas And Renewables Ltd "did not look to be replaced" and provided a supporting image. I queried this on 7/5/25 but have received no reply or explanation from Ryan."
