"I reached a life milestone 3 years ago and was fortunate to be able to have a house built. Didn't have an option (that I remember) of suppliers but turns out it was Stevenswood. Well, turns out ALL top hinged windows snagged at bottom side when closing/opening. When I contacted Stevenswood I was told to eliminate fitting issues but after much conversation was assured they were adjustable by a screw on the hinges. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and said there is no adjustment. I was sent a drawing in support of their assertion which was of a door. I subsequently had an experienced window guy courtesy of my builder look at the issues. About half of the windows required the panes removed from the frames and packers rejigged and all windows had to have the hinges removed and moved about 4-5mm to give the bottom side clearance. I have a large apex window in which the frame was removed and I was informed that there was a flaw found in the pvc weld which left the window vibrating loudly in wind. This was somewhat addressed but tonight unfortunately the wind is in the right/wrong direction and it sounds like a frayed fan belt. My utility room door is a nightmare. I've adjusted it many times summer and winter and even added further brush seals but again very noisy and draughty. Over all, in this day and age I'm more than hacked off. I wish I'd gone a bit dearer for better. I'm not interested in back and forth chit chat. I'm living with this and its real and unexaggerated."

"Problem with double glazing but have been given the run around by Kirkwood homes and Stevenswood. KH sales said 2 years, customer service say 5 years then pass buck to Stevenswood. They say five years but can produce no proof. Then they say changed to 10 but go back to KH. Both companies have incompetent customer service. Ask yourself do you want to deal with companies that cannot give proof of warranties. Bet they don’t say this when trying to get sale. Double glazing should not fail after 6 years. Buyers beware !!!. Cannot give the minus 5 stars they deserve."

"On the surface they're a good bunch who are keen to help and offer a good service. The problem is quality and when you receive something of sub standard then they don't want to know. Veka windows all went in well and were delivered as promised on the correct day, all the sizes were correct and there was no visible damage. Throughout fitting the windows I noticed a few manufacturing errors that I corrected myself as it was just about moving security latches that had not been lined up. The final window was installed and I noticed that one of the sashes was not lining up with the others, on closer inspection the mitre on the sash had come apart. I've reported this to Stevenswood who say I must pay for a new sash as it wasn't reported within 48hrs of delivery. Even the most careful of inspections would have missed this as the split is only visible on the inside as the outside is fine. They're not prepared to take responsibly for poor quality, my next step is trading standards. Attached photo of supplied sash. An update to the situation: they've agreed to replace the sash but still waiting after a year, my windows don't lock properly as lock keeps were missing."

"Absolutely shocking after service. Been now waiting over 4 years for these guys to get their act together and properly repair a window from the start of a new build. In fairness they have been round about 5 times over the last 4 and a half years but still not got it right. Now they won’t return my calls nor advise why they won’t confirm what’s happening? Very poor service"
