"Fascinating! All this history on our doorstep, & in the grounds, there's little evidence you're in a built up area. Just trees and grassland. Knowledgeable guides, pleasant little visitors center with toilets."

"If your kids are Castle obsessed I would highly recommend going on an exhibit day here. Staff were lovely and the site is very child focused. Parking is on the street but the streets are wide and we had no problem finding a spot. I will say though if you are having a bad mobility day it can be a bit of a rough walk but there is a flat viewing area right at the entrance that's easy to walk over."

"sadly if you think you are going to see a square, you will be disappointed. despite this being called β€œthe square” it is in a fact a circle. don’t be fooled by the fraudulent nickname. anyways about the β€œsquare” the best shops are; smash and grab, heron foods, the pet shop and the card factory. occasionally greggs when they food is cheap, hot and also when you are not getting attacked by the pigeons. the buses are chill especially the 002 😍 just watch out for some dodgy people there. especially the ones that hang around these shops; costcutters, drinks and all of the chippys. by the way DO NOT go to the dessert place (or where its replacement is) I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THE DESSERT PLACE OR ITS REPLACEMENT. oh and do not sit on the benches trust me. keep your kids far away from them things. okay boogie out ✌️"

"I've lived in South West Birmingham all my life and never seen the ruins. Visited after walking through Woodgate Valley County Park. It's OK to spend 10 minutes there and read about the history on the placards. I found it interesting being a local. Worth a visit if you live in the area. If you're travelling from further it is just ruins."
