West Derby Forge

"We found West Derby Forge online and used the company to make a bespoke, ornamental piece, from a sketch on paper. If you're looking for quality, handcrafted metalwork, you need look no further. Billy made a really super job of it, working to a fair and reasonable price, and completing within the scheduled time. He's friendly, easy to get on with, knows his craft, and will make helpful suggestions. What's not to like? Highly recommended"

"I contacted Billy to see if he could make me a step for the back garden as it's too much of a drop from door to floor for adults and grandkids.Ive made wooden ones before that get water damaged relatively quickly. After a good chat Billy came up with a design I was happy with, his experienced advice on materials to use etc was invaluable. I accepted what I thought was a very reasonable price abd Billy explained what work he had on and when he could have it ready. Had a good look around the workshop too. I'm really pleased with bespoke finished product, I just added some decking board, fantastic. What a brilliant local craftsman, fully recommended..professional, experienced, kept in touch during progress, a great experience from first enquiry to product delivery..Thanks Billy"

"Billy did a brilliant job of our front gate! It’s exactly what we wanted. He’s really knowledgeable and made some great suggestions with the design. The quote was really reasonable in comparison with some other ironmongers we’d contacted. Would absolutely recommend West Derby Forge."

"Billy did a great job making a bespoke poker for my husbands birthday, was very helpful in the design and explains how he hand forges the material, this top quality unique poker will last a lifetime, it’s always good to support local business 👍🏼thanks Billy"

"My dad Fred was a cabinet maker and i had an old chess board that he had made and had seen better days so i took it into work and sanded it down and put an oak frame around it to make it into a chess table top. I then gave it 3 coats of varnish. i now needed a fancy metal frame to make into a coffee table. i visited Billy's forge and explained what i wanted and Billy got to work on it. When finished Billy rang me to pick it up. When i got it home i screwed the frame to the chess table board and set the chess pieces out on the board and as you can see Billy did an excellent job on the frame and it was very pleasing that it was locally made"
