"Unfortunately, our experience with this joiner was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We initially contacted him following flood damage to our flat. He was friendly and arranged to come out the following evening to provide a quote, but failed to show up. After we chased him the next day, he arranged another visit that evening and did attend. At the time, we asked if he could also speak to our downstairs neighbours, who had been affected by the same issue and required work as well. He agreed, but instead left our property and went straight home without speaking to them. Once the quote had been agreed and the deposit paid through our landlord, we were told he needed time to order materials before starting work. After hearing nothing further, our landlord contacted him on 2nd June and was told work would begin on Monday 8th June. By 10th June, no work had started, so I contacted him directly. He then told me he would be there the following Monday. When I informed my landlord, they explained he had already promised to start the previous Monday. When questioned about this, his response was simply that he was busy but would “100%” be there on Monday. Monday came and went with no sign of him. I stayed in all morning waiting, while calls and messages were ignored. Late that afternoon I received a text apologising and saying he would be there the next day because the person working with him had been on another job. When they finally arrived, they were late and immediately created a huge amount of mess. They worked for just over an hour before leaving to buy supplies. Throughout the work, they failed to properly protect our belongings with dust sheets, resulting in damage and extensive dust throughout our kitchen. They were also asking our landlord whether they really needed to replace beading they had removed, and repeatedly entered our flat without knocking & left our front door open. On the second day, they again arrived late, completed the work, and left behind a significant mess. They left all of their rubbish outside the property and appeared to attempt cleaning using some interior car-cleaning wipes and an outdoor brush belonging to us, which had been taken from elsewhere in the property without permission. We then had to repeatedly chase them for several days to remove their rubbish. Despite promising on multiple occasions to collect it, they eventually arrived around 9pm one evening to do so. We later discovered some of the waste had simply been placed in a neighbour’s bin. In addition, a section of our flooring was damaged during the work, and our bread-making documents, which had been kept in the kitchen, have either been accidentally disposed of or taken. Delays can happen, but poor communication, missed appointments, ignored messages, lack of respect for customers’ homes, and the condition in which the property was left made this a very frustrating experience. Based on our experience, I would not use this company again."
