"It’s hard to know where to begin with this review given the scale and complexity of the work that Mark took on. The photos help to illustrate what an amazing achievement this was but they don’t tell the whole story. This was the largest domestic project Mark has seen, probably because the house was originally a hotel. The extent of the damage to the tiles, especially from extensive levelling compound and adhesive, was enormous. In the kitchen, Mark spent many hours measuring and mapping out where tiles could be removed from areas that would be concealed by new kitchen units and island. These were then used to replace a large area of exposed floor that had at some time been damaged and filled with concrete. Preparing for grouting, in order to stabilise the floors, took more days of work, followed by actual grouting and finally sealing. It is little wonder that Mark is the tile conservationist at York Minster - see for yourself in the magnificent chapter house. His knowledge and expertise are second to none and he is meticulous in keeping track of hours spent on the job and all expenditure on materials. If you need preservation and/or restoration of Victorian/Edwardian tiles, or tiles from any era, then look no further."

"I cannot speak highly enough about Mark and the wonderful job he recently completed at my property. Mark is passionate about his trade and it really shows in his work, he is a true craftsman and all round gentleman. I had the old tile sealant and salt deposits removed from the Victorian tiles in my hallway, it was then deep cleaned and treated with a breathable sealant followed by grouting where the original grout had worn away. Mark was also able to source a replacement for a very rare and sought after tile which was cracked! There is a very good reason Mark is so busy, it was worth the wait and I would not hesitate to recommend him."
